Wicked Day 2006

Held at the end of October, Wicked Day is an annual excuse for fans to celebrate their fondness for Wicked. In New York City near the Gershwin Theatre area, 51st street is blocked off to accomodate the many hundreds of people who come by for face painting, singing contest, and games. In 2006, the day was celebrated in New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, London, and Toronto where Wicked was touring.

She's reading Galinda's letter home: "Dear Momsie and...." Behind her see the green helium balloons that decorated the area.

"They had lots of giveaways and really cute Wicked stuff. The whole place was decked out. They also had a singing and costume contest. The winner of the costume contest was a girl who dressed as an ipod with Wicked songs on it. The best part for me, and for everyone else, was the introduction of the cast, Megan Hilty and Eden Espinosa, and Stephen Schwartz. They sang 'The Wizard and I,' 'Popular,' and 'For Good' while Stephen played the piano to accompany them. It was amazing...."
